

Victor Chavez, P.E., has 37 years of structural and civil engineering experience. He is a member of Chavez-Grieves’ Board of Directors and a founding partner of the firm.
He received his bachelors and master's degrees in civil engineering from the University of New Mexico. He is professionally registered in New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona, Idaho, South Carolina, California, Wyoming, and Oklahoma. Vic’s areas of expertise include new construction incorporating most structural materials, forensic engineering, remodels, and additions. He has provided professional civil and structural engineering services to numerous clients throughout the Southwest, including municipalities, universities and community colleges, primary and secondary education facilities, high-tech industrial and manufacturing plants, office buildings, military installations, and national laboratories. Some projects include the City Botanical Gardens, the 3.5 meter telescope at KAFB and numerous office park developments.
Vic has made community involvement a priority at Chavez-Grieves. He has been active in numerous local, state and national organizations. He has served as Chairman of the Board of the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, sets on the Amy Biehl High School Foundation Board and has chaired both the AAA Baseball Committee and the Arena Committee for the City of Albuquerque. He served for 2 years as the City Planning Director for Mayor Marty Chavez. Vic was a recipient of the 1999 ACEC/National Public Service Awards, and the 1997 New Mexico Society of Professional Engineers “Engineer of the Year award”.
